Voted Best Transmission Repair Shop in Atlanta

At United Transmission Service, all of our work is a custom job, and is done
with the latest technical information. We don't use assembly line or mass
production methods -- and we don't have different "grades" of repair.
You always get our best effort.

We are proud to have won the "Best Vehicle Transmission Repair Shop"
Angie'
s List Award the past two years, chosen by its Atlanta members. (info)

Servicing a vehicle's transmission includes a thorough test drive to quickly
determine the serviceability of the transmission. During the road test,
the transmission's shift quality and timing are noted along with any noises.

During a visual inspection of the transmission, things like leaks at the
transmission and cooler lines, the condition of engine and transmission
mounts, U-joints, CV axles and their boots are checked.

After it is determined that the transmission is serviceable, the bottom oil
pan is removed, inspected for excessive sediment and, if everything looks
fine, is cleaned out. The torque converter is drained if it has a drain plug.

The filter is removed and cleaned (serviceable filter) or changed.
All adjustments such as manual linkage, vacuum modulator, throttle
valve linkage, bands, kickdown linkage and shifter indicator are
checked and adjusted when necessary.

A new bottom pan gasket is installed and the pan retaining bolts are
torqued to factory specifications. The transmission is finally filled
with a top quality fluid and road tested to check if any further
adjustment is necessary and also to bring the unit to operating
temperature so that a final fluid level check can be done.

For vehicles that do not have a way to drain the torque converter, we offer
a complete fluid flush using a state of the art machine designed to
perform the flushing procedure quickly and efficiently.

Transmission rebuilding includes a complete teardown of the transmission
and inspection of every part. The parts are then thoroughly cleaned
and checked again. The parts that fail inspection are replaced
with new, rebuilt, or good used parts that are of the highest quality
available to assure that the transmission is reassembled
to OEM or better standards.

During the rebuild process, the causes for the failure of the transmission
are assessed so that changes can be made to assure that there will not
be a repeat failure. All specifications that pertain to the proper
assembly of the transmission are checked and adjusted, if necessary.
