What United Transmission's customers have said about us (continued)...

One woman's experience
I was told by another auto service that my transmission fluid was burnt and this could indicate a serious problem. Being a woman, I was very concerned and immediately began to look for someone to work on my transmission. I found this company using Angie's List. When I called to schedule an appointment I was told to drop by anytime. When I came to the shop, they listened to my story and then we took a test drive in my car. The technician told me everything was fine and even checked my fluid...it wasn't burnt. They did not charge me for this service and possibly saved me a lot of money if I had gone to a less than honest place. I would strongly recommend this place for any transmission work, especially if you are a woman. JB - 4-07

Amazing Service
I asked around to find a mechanic when I was new to the area and everyone told me to come here. When I walked in I immediately knew that he would be able to help me.

My drive shaft malfunctioned and tore up my transmission. He called around for me to find another transmission and found one 20 miles south of Atlanta. He told me if I went to pick it up he would install it free of charge because he realized the position that I was in and was trying to save me some money. I picked it up and he installed it. He only charged me $100 to seal everything up and saved me around $800. DC - 3-07

Southern Hospitality and Honesty
My 1999 Ford Explorer was having trouble with engaging reverse but the problem was sporadic. After a test drive and visual inspection Joe Burton said I could be wasting money to rebuild the transmission as the problem is as likely to never get worse as it was to get worse. No charge for services rendered.

Reputation Brought Me Back
Eight years ago, United replaced the transmission on my 1994 Buick. This year, I brought it back in, thinking that there was a problem with the transmission again (it had been diagnosed as that by my auto repair shop). I had wanted to sell the car, but didn't want to put $2,000 more dollars into a rebuilt transmission because it wasn't worth it. They performed a full scan of the system for FREE.

Joe Barton diagnosed it as an electrical problem, listed the exact sensors that were not functioning properly, and sent me to a nearby shop that specialized in that area where it was fixed for less than $200. The office is junky, but Joe is sharp, knows what he's doing, and is very fair.

A gem of a small business
I took my car to United expecting the worst. While idling, my car would come out of gear and would have trouble going from first to second gear. United inspected my car and diagnosed a transmission fluid leak. In a matter of hours, I received a call from United and learned that the repairs were very minor. United made the repairs free of charge and sent me on my way. If ever there were an opportunity to take advantage of a customer, it was my situation. United could have easily made the repairs seem more major or charged me a meaningless fee. But they performed in a prompt, reliable and honest manner. United Transmission is a gem of a small business and I'll most definitely use them in the future. It's a wonderful thing when you find a mechanic you can trust.
