What some of United's customers have said about us (continued)...
Transmission replaced in my 2001 Honda Odysessy.
Joe and his staff were just great, they tried to repair the transmission prior to having to replace it. The Honda dealer just wanted to replace it. If you like dogs, just ask Joe how Lucky II doing, its worth $100 off your service repair.

" Awesome Customer Service"
Description Of Work:
Complete overhaul of my 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4X4 transmission.
Comments:
I had noticed both a low rumble in what I assumed was my transmission, and significantly less gas mileage on my old Jeep Grand Cherokee. I took it to my local general repair shop and they "guessed" that it was my rear differential, and that a rebuild would be $1000. [I realized] the repair was going to be significant and expensive. As Joe appears to be a "guru" on some of the online reports, I decided to go with whatever he recommended, which in my case was a complete rebuild, for $2300 (after his $100 online discount).

Joe called and declared that the transmission had a pressure problem in the governing valve, and a serious leak. They took two days longer to complete the repair than they estimated, but I told them I was in no hurry, so that was fine.

The problem is that when I got the car back, the same rumble and low fuel mileage remained. I immediately called, and they were very apologetic, and told me to bring it right back, which I did. The same technician who drove and diagnosed the car's transmission drove it again, and this time he said the rumble was 'OBVIOUSLY" the front right wheel bearing, which United Transmission didn't even service. Had these guys been younger and less sincere, I probably would have demanded half my money back for an unnecessary repair. But I chose to believe that the transmission had in fact needed an overhaul.

The wheel bearing repair, at $460, did in fact fix both the rumble and fuel problems. When I complained to Joe about the fact that my original problem hadn't been fixed, he was apoplectic! He showed me the diagnostic codes that indicated the transmission, also, had been on its last legs...and I had noticed a leak there as well. As a measure of good will, Joe paid for a quarter of the wheel bearing repair at Layfield Motors.

In the end, I am satisfied that I got a great transmission at a great price, with confidence that if I have any problems, United Transmission will back their work up.
